Invest in colored loose diamonds

Diamonds have been known for its clear flawless colorless brilliant color especially for engagement rings metal settings. Today, there are many types of diamonds color, shape, cut, weight, and sizes. The most common colored loose diamonds collection are the blue, pink, yellow, orange, green, champagne, grey, black, white, red, purple, chameleon, and violet. The mix of carbon atoms and earth intense pressure contributed to the color of the diamonds. The diamonds’ brilliance, clarity, and depth fetched a very high price in the open market. The stones developed different colors because of the environmental impurities, carbon content, and earth pressure. The colored stones are often mined in Brazil, Australia, and South Africa.

One can say that colored diamonds are less formed than the clear colorless stones. Colored stones are cheaper than colorless stones. However, they still come as expensive gems in the open market. The red color is very unique but a rare find. It has been discovered that there could be only one colored diamond out of 10,000 colorless loose diamonds. This rarity makes colored diamonds a good investment for people who are interested to leverage on near to extinct gem market. Colored loose diamonds make good investments because their value do not depreciate or fluctuates as much as other commodities do.

If you think you could give you a better trade in the future, find the right size, cut, shape, and weight of a good colored diamond. Gemstones are profitable but colored loose diamonds are more profitable because their values tend to increase over time. Color are better fancied by some people because it offers the chance to personally design the jewelry or ably match any dress color. When attending social functions, color plays a very unique role in making the person wearing the colored diamonds look more stunning and beautiful. Colored diamonds are completely natural and blend completely with other colored gems or types of metals.

Valentine’s Day Gifts: 2011 Trend Report

The weather is getting colder and colder, snow is sweeping across the country, and all you want to do is put on some sheepskin slippers and hibernate until spring. But all around the country, the cold weather means only one thing to fashionable lovebirds: Valentine’s Day is almost here. February 14th is that one day a year when it’s ok to publicly declare how much you love your boyfriend/girlfriend/spouse/significant other, and it’s a time for the most romantic gestures and most sentimental gifts. 2011 is going to be a whopper of a Valentine’s Day gift season, as everyone who’s been holding back for the last couple years because of the slow economy is finally going to be able to go for the big splurge, the hot Valentine’s gift, the spectacular diamond necklace.

Before you head out with your snow boots to try to rustle up some awe-inspiring Valentine’s Day gifts, you should know that the number one trend this year is shopping online. Sure, online shopping has been around for years, but this holiday season, it finally beat in-store shopping for best deals and best customer satisfaction. Besides for the convenience and ease of shopping online, retailers are throwing in all kinds of bonuses like free shipping to sweeten the deal for even the most reluctant online shopper.

The big Valentine’s Day gift is, and always will be, jewelry. Diamonds are a girl’s best friend, says the song, and the song is always right. There is no way to say, “I think I’m in love with you,” or “Even though we’ve been married for 16 years, you are still the light of my life,” better than with a stunning diamond necklace or a pair of gemstone-studded earrings. Here are the top jewelry trends for Valentine’s gifts for 2011:

Tri-Color Gold. Sure, white gold is a classic, and yellow gold adds a vintage luster, and rose gold is a unique, romantic option, but put them all together for the Valentine’s Day gift trifecta of perfection. There are so many ways you can get your three gold varieties in, whether its a pair of earrings or a set of rings. The trendiest for 2011, though, is a set of gold bangles, set with scattered diamonds for that touch of brilliance and glamour. It’s the most romantic gift for Valentine’s Day, for an anniversary or birthday, or anytime, really.

Eternity Bands. This one has been around for a while, but the eternity band style has never been hotter, especially as a Valentine’s Day gift. An eternity band is a ring style in which the entire band of the ring is set with matching diamonds, creating an unbroken ribbon of brilliance and fire. Eternity bands are popular as wedding bands, but many brides prefer the traditional, smooth and comfortable gold bands for their wedding ceremonies. That doesn’t mean the eternity band doesn’t make the perfect gift for any other really special romantic occasion, like Valentine’s Day! The eternity band is one of the most luxurious gifts you can get, so experts say it’s the perfect way to show a girl how much she means to you.

Gemstone Pendants. Statement necklaces become more popular every year, as you can see on the necks of every A-list celebrity on the red carpet. But they can be a little more difficult to pull off for everyday occasions, so pendant necklaces remain more popular for everyday use. Although pendants are available in hundreds of styles, like hearts, which are of course perfect as Valentine’s gifts, the most popular style of 2011 is one which features a sizable gemstone as a center stone. Of course, gemstones are not quite as pricey as diamonds, so a necklace like this is well within reach, and makes a perfect Valentine’s Day gift. For a traditional look that is reminiscent of Princess Diana’s famous ring (now on the finger of future princess Kate Middleton), opt for sapphires with diamond accents. But there are so many other stunning gemstones available that make fabulous pendants, like rubies, emeralds, citrine, amethyst, and more.

Stackable Rings. These rings, small, simple styles designed to be worn individually or as a set, make perfect V-Day gifts because they are glamorous and eye-catching without being too dramatic for everyday use. A set of stackable rings gives the wearer so many options; she can wear them all for a statement look, just one to coordinate with her outfit, whatever she wants! One word of caution—if you are just reaching that point in your relationship when she might be expecting a proposal, it’s better not to give any rings as gifts. You don’t want it to be interpreted the wrong way! (If you really are planning to propose on Valentine’s Day, opt for a more classic engagement ring choice.) These stackable rings incorporate gemstones with diamonds, another huge trend for Valentine’s gifts this year. The geometric design is simple enough for everyday wear, but will add something special to any outfit.

Just-Right Hoop Earrings. As classic as hoop earrings are, they can be hard to pull off for a young fashionista. Too big, and you look like a denizen of the Jersey Shore; too small and you look like your grandmother. Not that there is anything wrong with either of those, but it can be challenging to find hoop earrings that are the perfect size for your face and style. As a guy, one of the most romantic gestures you can possible do for a Valentine’s Day present is to give you sweetheart that one pair of diamond-embellished hoop earrings she has always wanted, but never found. How do you do that? Well, experts recommend that the perfect hoop earring come down to right about that point where your jawbone hinges. You can eyeball it, or steal a pair of earrings that looks right about that length and measure it. Then, choose a stunning pair of diamond-embellished hoop earrings in that size. Trust me, she will be grateful, and stunned by your good taste!

Distinguished Accessories for Men. Looking like an overgrown teenager with scuffed sneakers and a canvas wallet is so 2010. 2011 is the year of the groomed man, the guy who knows the difference between merino and cashmere, who appreciates a good pair of cufflinks, and who takes fashion tips from Don Draper, not Dave Matthews. So get your guy any accessory for a Valentine’s Day gift, just make sure it’s top-quality and worthy of the man he is. Titanium cufflinks in a tuxedo-striped style make the ideal Valentine’s Day gift for him!

The Celebrity Inspired Engagement Ring Guide: 2011 Edition

With all the movie stars, singers and Hollywood hoi polloi getting engaged this year, it seems like the men of the world are taking Beyonce’s warning seriously: they like it, and they’re gonna put a ring on it! Being that one third of all engagements take place over the holidays, there couldn’t be a better time to take a cue from your favorite celebrities and pop the question. The top five celebrity-inspired engagement ring trends for 2011, inspired by Weddingchannel.com’s round-up, include a fantastic mix of classic and innovative pieces, for all styles and every budget. Check it out!

1. Fit For a Princess. There hasn’t been an engagement ring trend this big since Princess Diana got engaged back in the 80’s—and it’s the same ring! Kate Middleton, soon to be Princess Catherine of England, wears an incredible engagement ring featuring a hefty deep blue sapphire surrounded by smaller diamonds. Demand for sapphires has skyrocketed, and this is one trend that isn’t going anywhere. Keep in mind that a lot of the same factors that are important for diamonds—cut quality, carat size—apply to high-quality gemstones like sapphires, rubies and emeralds.

2. Made to Order. Custom solitaire engagement rings are perfect for people who love everything to be one-of-a-kind, and it’s not as difficult or as expensive as you think! Stephen Moyer, of True Blood fame, created a custom engagement ring for his co-star and off-screen wife, Anna Paquin. Custom rings may take slightly longer to produce, but it will be worth the wait when she sees the perfect ring of her dreams!

3. Rainbow Diamonds. Fancy colored diamonds, as these naturally hued stones are called, can be fabulously expensive and hard to find. But as they increase in popularity—see Carrie Underwood’s yellow diamond engagement ring or Carmen Electra’s ultra-sexy black diamond—they become more accessible and even (somewhat) more affordable. Pink diamonds are still incredibly extravagant, but warm yellows and cognacs (not to be confused with a diamond with lower color rating!) are a stunning choice.

4. Think Outside the Circle. Unusual and creative diamond cuts like the pear, oval and marquise, have been around for a long time, but they’ve never been more popular than they are right now. Victoria Beckham is famous for her dramatic marquise solitaire, but even more traditional pop princesses like Katherine Heigl and Katie Holmes are opting for a more creative shape. Heart shapes have lost popularity in the last few years, but die-hard romantics will always aim straight for the heart anyway.

5. Something Old, Something New. Vintage rings are creative and different, great for the bride who is truly an individual. Antique or vintage engagement rings often feature expert craftsmanship and impeccable detailing, along with elaborate designs and romantic details. Keep in mind, however, that the diamonds may be of poorer cut grades and generally lower quality than what is now available to the average consumer. You can visit antique jewelers if you are really set on a vintage setting, and then have it set with modern, high-quality diamonds to ensure optimal light performance, or just opt for a vintage-style engagement ring. Celebrities from Megan Fox to Christina Applegate went the vintage engagement ring route. (Fox then lost her ring on a beach, but that’s a different story!)
